Kinship Scholarship Program

Hundreds of children lost one or both parents in the 2015 Nepal earthquakes. These children, known as “earthquake orphans”, face significant obstacles in their daily lives. The pain of loss of family is often compounded by the need to leave school to support their own survival. KarmaFlights has developed a unique program to break this damaging cycle and protect these vulnerable children.

Our kinship scholarships are a long-term promise.  We pledge to support our scholarship recipients throughout the entire education process. This promise is guaranteed educational security; including school supplies, uniforms, basic medical care and food.

As a result of the 25 April 2015 Earthquake many children near the Gorkha epicentre lost their parents and family members, further increasing the pool of the underprivileged. Many are deprived of basic needs such as food, medication and education. KarmaFlights is dedicated to supporting education for underprivileged children. Investment in children’s education aids in ensuring good global citizens are grown and is therefore an investment in the nation’s future, and their family’s futures. http://www.karmaflights.org/

In communities completely devastated by natural disaster, KarmaFlights is offering hope to the hopeless. Those that had everything taken can now strive towards their dreams, knowing we are there for them every step along the way to success.

Since the founding of Karma Flights, we have sought to protect the educational security of Nepal's youth. In the villages of Arnakot, children are often forced into a cycle of poverty beyond their own control. Education is abandoned in order to support one's family and ensure survival. Our kinship scholarship program provides young people the tools to break these patterns, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to not only achieve their dreams but to also support their community.
